1.4: Exponential Functions

A function of the form $f(x) = b^x$ where $b > 0$ is called a exponential function.
Graph the function $f(x) = 2^x$.

Exponential functions take on three different general shapes:

Euler's number, denoted as $e$, is approximately $2.71828...$

$e$ makes some calculus problems easier, as we will see.
